What is Climate Change? An Inside Look

For those who are wondering about the term, ‘climate change’ or global warming, is defined as the noticeable rise in average temperature on Earth. A lot of professionals suggest that climate change is caused by the human consumption of fossil fuels. This act resulted in the release of not only carbon dioxide, but other greenhouse gases into the air as well. Wherein, the gases trap heat within the atmosphere and this could lead to various effects on the ecosystems, such as severe weather events, rising sea levels, and droughts that contribute to wildfires on dried landscapes.

How Real Is Climate Change?
The scientific community believes that climate change is a serious phenomena that shouldn’t be taken for granted. As a matter of fact, even the US Environmental Protection Agency, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration agree that climate change is happening, and nothing is to be blamed but human activity.

What Are the Possible Causes of Climate Change
The main cause of climate change is the usual burning of fossil fuels, such as coal, and oil. This contributes to the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, leading to the production of carbon dioxide. Aside from that, other human activities, such as deforestation and agriculture can also contribute to the formation of greenhouse gases that could cause climate change.

Despite the fact some of these gases occur naturally, and it’s needed by the planet, the atmospheric level of CO2 shouldn’t rise above 300 parts per million or it would cause a lot of problems, such as what we are experiencing today.

Fortunately, it’s still possible to save mother earth, and that’s why there are a lot of advocates who are trying to do everything to protect the environment. All of us can take part in this and prevent the issue of climate change from getting worse.
